NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydro power ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Company of the Government of India has been conferred Second Prize in the ‘Office Buildings Sector’ for the year 2009 under the National Energy Conservation Awards. Shri S.K. Garg, CMD, NHPC received the award from Shri Sushilkumar Shinde Hon’ble Union Minister of Power in the presence of Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power and Shri Harishankar Brahma, Secretary (Power), Government of India at a glittering function held at Vigyan Bhavan to mark the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day on 14.12.09. The award recognizes NHPC’s commendable efforts in Electricity Saving at its Corporate Office building through usage of Energy Saving Appliances and Proper Power Management.
