NHPC Limited has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Power, Government of India for the year 2010-11 as a commitment to the Government of India to achieve targets for various financial, dynamic, sector specific and enterprise specific parameters. The MOU was signed recently by Shri Harishankar Brahma, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and Shri S.K. Garg, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC in the presence of senior Officers of the Ministry of Power and NHPC.
In order to achieve the excellent rating for 2010-11, a challenging target to generate 18000 Million Unit (MU) of energy has been set for the Company as against 17200 MU set for last year. The Gross Sales has been kept as Rs. 3694 crore against Rs. 2462 core kept for corresponding previous year.
Milestones with respect to Research & Development, Human Resource Development, Project Implementation, electrification of villages & connection to BPL households under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), safety at operating and ongoing Projects, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) etc. have also been included in the MOU.
NHPC has been signing Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of India every year since 1991-92.
